Our first tree was planted on March 19, 2004.  It was a Tuliptree planted in memory of the mother of Dr. Marylin Lisowski.

The next step was to clear away rocks, debris, and trash.
On April 8th and 9th, 2004, fifth grade students from the classes of Mrs. Hayes, Mrs. Fouts, Ms. Webb, Mr. Ghere, and Mrs. Brachbill were able to finish the task quickly by working hard together.

More than 150 students were gathered to learn how to plant the first trees for the new arboretum.

On May 26th, 2004, students worked to measure the height and circumference of each tree.
Circumference was measured 10 cm from the ground.

Finally, on that same day, students were trained and located the coordinates of each tree using a GPS.
