| Winter Trip ~ We came home smelling like campfire smoke and the outdoors, but we learned a lot, and “Mother Nature” once again was the teacher. Students were taught tracks and signs of animal life and on a nature hike, they looked for those signs applying what they had learned. Students once again spent time writing in their journals, this time with the woods as their setting. They photographed what they saw, and also took time to use a GPS to hunt for a local "geocache". Students dressed warm and we worked at not complaining about the cold. It was all rewarded with hotdogs cooked over the fire, chips, fruit, and homemade cookies. |
