Scientific Name - Sassafras albidum

Description:  simple;  deciduous;  alternate;  aromatic;  2- and 3- lobed leaves may occur on same tree.  They are shiny green above, paler and sometimes hairy below;  elliptical;  3 to 5 inches long and 1.5 to 4 inches wide;  turning orange, red, or yellow in fall.
