Common Name - Osage Orange

Scientific Name - Maclura pomifera

Description:  a heavy, yellowish-green, fleshy, hard ball; 3.5 to 5 inches in diameter.  They are composed of numerous closely packed drupes.  When punctured, they exude a bitter milky juice which turns black on exposure.  They mature in the fall.  Osage Orange Tree Leaf and Fruit (Hedge Apple)
