Description:
fairly tall tree reaching a height of 70 feet with a trunk that has a diameter of about 2 feet;  stout branches forming a spreading rounded or elliptical crown.

Habitat:
rich, moist soils;  along streets or roads, and in gardens.
     Range:  widely planted throughout;  naturalized in some part of the Northeast;  native to southeastern Europe.
