Description:

a full and sturdy tree reaching heights of 70 to 100 feet with a diameter of 2 to 4 feet.  It has a rounded, open crown and aromatic foliage.

Habitat:

well-drained, most soils, often along streams, or in mixed forests.      Range:  found in the wild from SE. Douth Dakota to Connecticut and Massachusetts; south to NW. Florida,  west to central Texas.  It is absent from southern coasts.
